Doing might be the best form of learning. But when you know you want to make a difference and just aren’t sure how, it’s time to do the next best thing. Learn from those who have made that leap.
Join Social Enterprise Alliance–Chicago (SEAC) in the first Worklab of the year on July 29th to discover first hand how Bright Endeavors (BE) has provided young mothers a pathway out of poverty. Through job training and the production and sale of premium soy candles, BE has enabled high-risk adolescent mothers to take back control of their professional lives.
“This will be an immersive experience. Participants will gain more than just knowledge about a social enterprise business model. They will also hear the personal stories of the mothers impacted and get the opportunity to make beautiful candles together!” says Stephanie Wernet, SEA-Chicago Board Member and Co-founder of Bright Endeavors.
To improve the quality of interaction, space will be limited and filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Early registration is recommended. Cost to attend is $10 for members.
To kick off the series of Worklabs, the regular cost to non-members has been discounted 60 percent to $15.
